Gearly Australia | Second-Hand Camera Equipment
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
All sales are final for change-of-mind purchases.
Gearly does not offer voluntary returns, refunds or exchanges where a customer:
- Changes their mind after purchasing.
- Orders the wrong item or decides it is unsuitable for their needs.
- Finds the same product at a lower price elsewhere.
- No longer wants or needs the purchased item.
This policy does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
2. Second-Hand Equipment & Condition
Gearly specialises in second-hand cameras, lenses and photographic equipment.
All pre-owned items are sold according to their advertised descriptions, photographs and stated condition.
Customers should expect reasonable signs of previous use consistent with an item’s age, advertised condition and price. These may include minor cosmetic marks, scuffs or other imperfections that have been disclosed before purchase.
Cosmetic imperfections, wear or defects that were clearly disclosed before purchase do not, by themselves, entitle a customer to a return or refund.
However, all products must meet the applicable consumer guarantees, including matching their descriptions and being of acceptable quality having regard to their age, price and condition.
3. Faulty or Incorrectly Described Products
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
If a product fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the nature of the problem.
For a major failure, you are entitled to choose a refund or replacement in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
For a minor failure, Gearly may choose to repair the product within a reasonable time. If the problem is not remedied within a reasonable time, further remedies may become available under Australian Consumer Law.
Consumer guarantee rights are not restricted to a fixed number of days after purchase.
4. Returns Not Covered
Gearly is not required to provide a remedy for:
- Normal wear and tear occurring after purchase.
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper handling or unreasonable use after delivery.
- Faults or cosmetic imperfections specifically disclosed before purchase, where the claim relates solely to those disclosed issues.
- Change-of-mind purchases.
These exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law.
5. Requesting a Return
If you believe an item is faulty or does not match its advertised description, please contact sales@gearly.com.au with:
- Your order number or proof of purchase.
- A description of the problem.
- Photographs or other relevant information, where available.
We may inspect or assess the product to determine the nature of the issue and the appropriate remedy under Australian Consumer Law.
Please contact us before posting an item so that we can provide suitable return instructions. Original packaging is not required to exercise your statutory consumer rights.
6. Return Shipping & Refunds
Where a product is confirmed to have a problem covered by the Australian Consumer Law, Gearly will reimburse reasonable return postage costs incurred by the customer, as required by law.
Where a refund is required, it will be processed in accordance with Australian Consumer Law, generally using the original payment method.
No restocking fee will be charged for returns or remedies required under Australian Consumer Law.
7. Purchases Through Third-Party Marketplaces
Purchases made through platforms such as eBay may also be subject to the applicable marketplace’s buyer protection and returns policies.
Nothing in this policy excludes rights under Australian Consumer Law or applicable marketplace requirements.
